[ec2] Keeping uids in sync

Hi All,
This is probably a pretty basic question. We are using EBS volumes and are
having problems with system uids and gids (such as postgres and postfix
users) differing on each instance. This of course causes permission problems
when we move the ebs volume from one instance to the other. I was wondering
what people are doing to keep their system uids in sync.
