Hi,

as promised, here's a quick update on the release of Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty
Jackalope) on EC2:

As part of an effort to increase the quality of the EC2 images, we're
making some changes to the build and release process. This is taking a
bit longer than expected.

Builds of Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) and Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala)
will be automated by late next week. Shortly after this, we'll release a
beta image of Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope). After a short beta period,
we expect to release the final Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) image.
Once again, let me apologise for the delay so far, and thanks for your
patience!

For Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) we'll start building images daily. These
will be available for download, so that you can put them in your local
cloud, or upload them to EC2, if you wish. We expect to only publish the
alpha, beta, release candidate, and final releases to EC2.

If you have any questions about any of this feel free to ask here on the
list or in private.
