[ec2-beta] Using latest kernel in Europe?

Hello,

I've been developing an application using EC2 in Europe. I've reached a roadblock where I need a newer kernel than 2.6.21. I've been using the Alestic Ubuntu 8.10 image until now. I need a kernel >= 2.6.27... I notice that there is an AKI and assoicated ramdisk available in the US (canonical_ubuntu_cloud/vmlinux-2.6.27-xen-${arch}) but I'd like to know if there's any way I can boot this in Europe.
