The fix for this bug can only be released in a new AMI since the 
software in question is on the image.  The way that Amazon EC2 works, 
existing AMIs cannot be modified (though it is possible to delete them).

When a new, updated AMI is built and released, I'm sure it will be 
announced on this mailing list.
