Even when told it is free for life! Even when I offer to do it for free too! Even when shown how quick it is too boot and update! Even when shown how little is required to keep it running with Bleachbit! They are suspicious of software that could be a great way for them to learn new skills etc. This bug is still very much in evidence: <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1">https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1</a> The only people I know who use it are advanced computer users with years of experience who aren't worried about 'getting their hands dirty with their pc'. I think the installer is lovely, especially on a pc with no operating system. But a person with no knowledge of computers will go straight to a store with a pc with windows on it. Even after a recommendation of GNU Linux! How did we get to this situation....? I suspect your IT team will of heard of it, but will not know how to burn discs or use it with windows. I suggest on a windows machine using 'VMWare Player' after burning the linux disc. It is very effective. A good way to trial linux. To burn a linux disc use Infrarecorder. If the above is too much hassle Linux User and Developer or Linux Format magazines from WhSmith usually have these distros on them on their cover discs. The easiest to use linux distribution is Ubuntu. It is amazingly fast...and pretty! Though there are plenty of others to choose from...try Distrowatch, it lists them. Machines with No Operating System can be got for £149 (Desktop) or £269.99 (Laptop) and work very effectively from Ebuyer. Zoostorm is the manufacturer. Monitor will be extra. Documentation is via google at Ubuntu Manual. There is real scope for moneymaking here...and it is very robust. Hope this helps.
