Well, if you want edit access, it's probably easiest to apply to join 
the ~ubuntu-wiki-editors team. Direct and indirect members of the 
~ubuntumembers team have had access to the wikis without a need to also 
join ~ubuntu-wiki-editors, but that stopped working which is what the 
discourse topic is about (I think).

In any case, only an LP account has not been sufficient the past few years.
