Why the repository is so out of date?
You should create an app repository where the community can update the
programs in that repository by copying and paste the address of those third
party programs in the repository.
For example: If kicad has a newer version of its software, that a user of
kicad like me can press an icon in kicad in ubuntu repository and copy and
paste the download address from the kicad developer into the ubuntu
repository, then the older version of kicad in ubuntu repository is
replaced by the newer version of kicad.
That could save you a lot of time and work and you can focus more in the
development of the ubuntu software and at the same time keep an updated
repository.
