Hi Will, and thanks for your message!

I read your release notes at http://pad.ubuntu.com/TQSvn0EedG, and
they'll probably fit well at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/VividVervet/ReleaseNotes

Please note that the documentation team is typically not involved in
writing the Ubuntu release notes. We maintain user documentation for the
desktop and the server.

In the desktop guide we used to include a very condensed "What's New"
page. This is the 14.04 version of it:

https://help.ubuntu.com/14.04/ubuntu-help/whats-new.html

We skipped that page in the 14.10 version of the desktop guide due to a
lack of (to us) known visible changes, and up to now skipping it has
been the plan for 15.04 as well. Actually, DocumentationStringFreeze
according to the 15.04 ReleaseSchedule[1] was on March 19, so we have
stopped the editing and left it to the translators to do their part. My
feeling is that the changes you mention in your release notes, and
considering how late in the cycle we are, don't motivate that we revive
the condensed news page in the desktop guide this cycle. Please let us
know if you think otherwise.

I do hope, though, that we can have more regular contact going forward.
One of the neverending issues for the members of the documentation team
is a lack of information about pending changes. Often we get aware of
the changes, sometimes accidentally, very late in respective cycle,
which results in insufficient time to make the docs reflect the new
stuff. It would be great if we could work out a proper 'channel' to feed
the team members with relevant info on an ongoing basis.

Actually, my interpretation of that "driver" role is the person who
leads the developing and maintaining of the Ubuntu Desktop Guide[2].
Nobody would be happier than me if that's really your intention. Is it? ;)
