Simpler - how? From the POV of the person who writes the guide it's
often much easier to type a bunch of terminal commands. But the
non-technical user easily get the feeling of not understanding what's
happening.

Anyway, currently the desktop guide is almost 100% GUI based. A possible
discussion about changing that is beyond the scope of this thread.
