Yes, that is the exact thing I was referring to as
"demented" in our off-list e-mails and in the
comment for my most recent edit for the page you are trying
to replace.

I absolutely hate the auto insertion of hyperlinks that
the wiki sometimes does. If I want a link, I'll put one in.
There is a way to force it not to add a link, but I forget
how at the moment.

(yesterday, I did look at the code and thought there was
one case of a set of "space *", but I see that I am mistaken).
