On this subject, I can only speak to the Ubuntu
Serverguide, the Ubuntu Desktop docs, and what
is published on help.ubuntu.com
The serverguide is not a released package, and therefore
is not bound by any need to do any SRU (Stable Release Update)
procedure. If significant translation has been done, and someone
wants a cycle done (a .po import and regeneration of the master
files), then I will do it.
By the way, we are also debating publishing all languages of the
Serverguide on help.ubuntu.com, just like the desktop docs does now.
I hope to set up a preliminary version for 13.10 within the next few
months.
The desktop docs are a released package, and therefore
is supposed to be covered by SRU procedure. We (O.K. I) have
been debating that this makes no sense for what is published
on help.ubuntu.com. In fact we already made a change to the
footnote that is not in the packaged version. So again, if
significant translation work has been done, and someone
wants a cycle done (a .po import and regeneration of the master
files), including update of help.ubuntu.com, then I will do it.
(well, "try" to do it. The debate is ongoing, and I'm not sure all
stakeholders on on-board yet.)
