Yeah, even when things are well-documented, Classroom sessions (and
other events - bug days, QA jams) are social mechanism for generating
interest and excitement in joining a project. Some folks are shy about
getting started, this gives them a specific opportunity to take
advantage of a session that explicitly says: "We know you are new,
we'll walk you through it live and answer any questions you have."
Announcements for sessions are also publicized on the Classroom blog,
Ubuntu Weekly News and added to the Learning Events calendar for folks
who follow that, gets more coverage than we're used to in seeking
contributors.
