Hi,
Now that I begin to understand how rgrep works I have another issue I
want to discuss.
Although I am aware of the fact that there is not yet a string freeze
for ubuntu-docs (Precise), would it be possible to update the .po files
in LP on a regular basis? This would make our translation work more
effective. To push changed files to lp:ubuntu-docs only takes a few
minutes, but perhaps updating the po files on LP is another story.
When we translate strings here:
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/ubuntu-docs/+pots/ubuntu-help/nl/,
the translations will be lost as soon as the English string changes. And
since I came upon quite a few typos so far (which appear to have been
corrected now), many translations will be lost.
The reason why we start translating Precise now, instead of waiting for
the string freeze, is that it is a very large document. The earlier we
can start, the better. We stopped translating the oneiric version
because, by the time it is finished, Precise will be on its way.
Regards,
Hannie
