Hi :)
I think you have done the perfect thing. Perhaps give other people and yourself
time to cogitate it. Then in a couple of days remove all reference to anything
older than 8.04 (Server) or 10.04 (Desktop). Good work!!
Regards from
Tom :)

Subject: updated LDAP Client Authentication document

Hi all,

I have been working on centralizing user management in a company network this
week.
My requirements where described in the above mentioned community document:

    https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LDAPClientAuthentication/

Unfortunately the document was "somewhat" outdated and when I finally had a
working

    - client authentication and
    - client host authorization

the whole setup on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS was somewhat different than described in the
document.
Actually it was simpler, but with some common pitfalls.

I took the liberty to update the document and shift the pre-7.10 part to the
bottom as "legacy" documentation, but am now unsure if it wouldn't even be
better to remove that part (who would ever want to set such a thing up on Ubuntu
< 7.10?)

Could anyone comment on how I should behave and on whether the document is
acceptable?

Kind regards

Günther Mair
