Article: Internet and Networks > Ways of Connecting >
Wireless
Step 2 under "To
connect to a wireless network:"
"Network Manager icon"
- This may need explaining to inexperienced users. Consider adding a picture or
description of what it looks like and where on the interface to find it.
In the section beginning "If
you are connecting to a network for the first time"
dialog box => Wireless Network
Authentication Required dialog box - this should be named so that users are not
confused if they receive a different dialog box
"Enter your security
details as follows." => "Enter your security details as
follows:" - this should end in a colon per the Style Guide
Step 1 under "Enter your security details as follows."
"Wireless Security" => "Wireless security" - the "s" is not capitalized
"drop-down box" =>
"drop-down list" - this is called a drop-down list in the standard
terminology
"WEP, WPA and LEAP"
=> "WEP, WPA, and LEAP" - should have a comma before
"and" per the Style Guide
Step 2 under "Enter your security details as follows."
"password, key or other
authentication details" => "password, key, or other authentication
details" - should have a comma before "or" per the Style Guide
"Enter the password, key or
other authentication details as appropriate." => "Enter the
password, key or other authentication details as appropriate in to the Password text box." - Where to
enter the information should be provided for inexperienced users.
"If you don't know your wireless key" => "If
you do not know your wireless key" - the apostrophe may make translation
difficult per the Style Guide
In the Note
"If you have a wired network connection as well as a
wireless connection" => "If you have both a wired and wireless
network connection" - this is shorter, has better flow, and will likely be
easier to translate
