Hi All,
XML Copy Editor [1], a GTK-based program for editing XML files, will be in
Ubuntu 10.04, but is installable in Karmic for those who aren't yet ready to
upgrade to Lucid. The official Ubuntu package is up on
packages.ubuntu.com[2]. Although it is better to use the package
manager and official repos to
install software, installing from the Ubuntu package is at least better than
downloading from the project's site.
The editor is fairly straightforward with regards to text entry, but it can
auto-close tags, and appears to do some pretty powerful stuff with regards
to validation. I haven't used it extensively yet, though.
