problem in ubuntu 9.10

hi this is rahul pandey a regular user of ubuntu recently i have
downloaded the ubuntu 9.10 version where i couldnot connet to the
internet well i have done the same procedure which i use to do in
ubuntu 9.04 but cant connect
i go tho the dsl give my user name and password and internet get
connect in 9.04 but not in 9.10 plz help
