I'd recommend checking out the Xubuntu information from the Xubuntu
documentation.  If you are using Xubuntu, you can find this information in
the following locations:

file:///usr/share/xubuntu-docs/about-xubuntu.html#xubuntu-intro
file:///usr/share/xubuntu-docs/about-ubuntu-name.html
file:///usr/share/xubuntu-docs/ubuntu-difference.html
