Ubuntu Help Centre
Following on from various exchanges with ddrichardson regarding printing documentation I came to the conclusion that it would be of benefit to me and possibly others it I worked my way through the documentation.
All observations are based on 9.04 help centre information and using Gnome.
Section 2.4.2 - Adding Workspaces
When selecting the link to : Workspace Switcher Applet Manual an error message Problem Showing Document was displayed and clicking on any other link on the page completely shut down the Help Centre.
Section 3.2 – Locking Your Screen
The instruction given is : Chose System > Quit and select Lock Screen. This is not available as it has been removed and replaced under the switch users or shut down icon on the upper panel.
Suggesting that adding a Lock screen Icon to the panel is just adding needless clutter to the panel and duplicating the function.
Section 4.7 – Menu
Submenus. I was unable to place a submenu on the Top Panel. Can this please be checked?
Section 6.8.5 – Changing Backgrounds.
In this instance I was attempting to follow the instruction by attempting to colour code my folders. Having selected a folder and followed the instruction of dragging the desired colour to the folder it completely populated the background not only for that folder within places but all the sections in places. Looking at the section it gave the impression that both folders and backgrounds could be set individually but my attempts are unable to achieve this aim. Reference is made to a pop up but none appeared.
Can this please be checked ?
This is the result of my initial trawl through the first six sections of the help. Can you advise if this is how you wish information passed on and if it is in an acceptable fashion ? If so I will be happy to continue on through the help sections.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Ian
