Bug reports are the most efficient way to track both errors and
patches. Open bugs will always be on our todo list and error reports
and patches are easily lost on the mailing list.

That's great, it's a very valuable contribution - I apologise that I
hadn't noticed that you'd already provided a patch for the issue you
posted about. We'll review and apply the patch in due course.
