Interested to become technical proof Reader

Hi,

I am Kuldeep. I would like to join in technical documentation team. I got
couple of questions

1. I am new to ubuntu desktop environment but became fan of Ubuntu. Is it
possible for me to contribute ongoing
    ubuntu documentation improvement.

2. From web site I found that I can get mentoring on how to proof read or
document. Can I try for first few weeks with this process?

3. When I am assigned a task is there any fixed time frame to complete like
1 or 2 days?
