An advanced section is exactly what I was suggesting, not a separate page...

Reading your email, I don't think that we necessarily have different
views about what information the page should provide. As a result, and
given that I think the previous draft of the page (which was only
introduced about a month ago as a result of Allan's work) reads rather
better, I think what we should do is to revert the changes, but add a
"Reference" section which includes the links which you've added, and
we can take the discussion from there.

I hope that sounds fair!
