NetworkManager0.7 document or Gnome Keyring password changing...

Hi,

I'm a newbie, just installed Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 and have had a problem with my wlan. I've overcome the problem now, but want to help others who come across the same problem.

I have a secure wireless network at home. So when I boot, I get this Unlock Keyring popup asking for me ot "Enter password for default keyring to unlock" - "The application 'Network Manager Applet@ (/usr/bin/nm-applet) want access to the default keyring, but is locked." I enter the password -- and it just keeps popping up. I then tried entering my old password, and it works - until I reboot, then the same again.

So the problem is: I changed my user password, the Gnome Keyring Password was not updated, and I guess many users might not be able to work this out.

I searched Ubuntu documentation for "Keyring Password" and kept getting the NetworkManager document which I read several times, trying to work out how to change the keyring password, and could not find the solution.

I followed the link at the top which took me to the NetworkManager0.7 document, but found nothing of any help. I eventually found the solution in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=863891&highlight=change+keyring+password

I think that there should be some mention of this problem in the NetworkManager0.7 document, but only think this as I couldn't find any other solutions to my search "how to change keyring password" or "lost keyring password" in the Ubuntu documentation.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.10.

I hope that this is of some help to you.

Thanks,

Rob Thomas.
