In short, people picks tasks to work on, send patches and review
comments back to the mailing list and other people review and then
commit their changes as appropriate. I'd recommend just jumping in at
the deep end to see how it works - there's nothing particularly unusual
about the way we work, I don't think!

I've CC'd Adam Sommer, who should be able to tell you about what needs
to be done with the server guide over the next release cycle.
