Hi,

First of all, welcome :) You might want to check this web page regarding

The first thing that came to my mind when you mentioned that you test
Ubuntu on Dell machines was these two web pages:

I'm sure others will give much better advice on a starting point, but
maybe you could help with those two compatibility databases?

Or maybe check out the bugs that are occuring in Dell systems? The bug
system is located at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs . I'm CC'ing the
bugsquad in case they know more about this.
