License of the Ubuntu Book?

i thought that would be the case. 

On another slightly tangential note...i was wondering if its possible to
use the docs under the gpl...

the attribution share-alike license states:
"If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute
the resulting work only under the same or similar license to this one."

is the GPL a sufficiently 'similar' license?
