PDF quality of Ubuntu Desktop Guide

The Ubuntu Desktop Guide PDF files (I have looked in variations K, X,
and U) have a curious bug that really should not be appearing. It seems
that the PDF creation engine has trouble outputting type with links with
end brackets "]".

I am attaching a screen shot of the problem using page 18 of the Ubuntu
Desktop Manual.

The "jumbling" of the letters is not "Linux in its finest hour" and
should not be in documentation that a new-to-Ubuntu person should be
exposed to.

I am sorry that I do not know how to fix this problem, but it truly does
need fixing.
