Last-minute artwork changes, impact on screenshots

Hello to all of you on the Ubuntu Documentation team,

As you might have noticed the artwork in Edgy has reverted to
Dapper's designs a few days ago, this was fully intentional, but
we're not going to keep these for release. The artwork team has been
granted a freeze exception and we are going to make use of it to
upload a new set of artwork which is being created as we speak.

I'm working closely with several artists and Mark to come up with the
new artwork for Edgy early this week and personally I'm shooting for
having the artwork settled on Wednesday which seems doable from our
side.

As the imminent artwork changes will greatly impact your ability to
take final screenshots I want to work out a plan that works out for
both the artwork and documentation team. As I haven't been able to
clearly identify a documentation team leader I hope someone on the
mailing list will step forward to resolve the issue.

I haven't got a lot of experience with the work the documentation
team is going, but I think the desktop wallpaper is the most critical
part of the screenshots, am I right? If so, I'll make sure we
prioritize it and try to get you a heads-up early version before it
is committed to the archives.

Other things we are bound to change are the usplash artwork, GDM
theme (both Human and HumanCircle) and the login splash image. Other
aspects of the desktop artwork will remain unchanged.

Thanks for reading, I hope we can work together closely the coming days.

With kind regards,

Frank Schoep
