This is how I setup global.ent right before the Edgy string freeze

<!ENTITY irc-network 'Freenode' >
<!ENTITY irc-server 'irc.ubuntu.com' >

So calling global.ent will get the correct information. The channels are also 
in there, not all of them #kubuntu, #ubuntu, #edubuntu, and #xubuntu as well.
