IMHO i dont think either should be recommended in a wiki other than an
EU or automatix wiki. not that i dont like either but i think the point
of a "wiki" or community supported site should be the real way to do
things. in no way am i saying EU or automatix is the wrong way but i
think its a fast easy way or even lazy way out. there is enough hype on
ubuntuforums about both projects and most users that come to IRC for
help have gone to the forums already and either looked and passed by or
stopped and gotten them. IRC is taking a nutreul side with both
projects. arnieboy from last i heard is giving it up and it is handled
by a team now and they are redoing the code to make it "better" i have
never looked at either code because i feel (personal opinion not flame)
that if you are using linux and the reason you are using it is to learn
a "better/cheaper" way to do things i think you should learn how to do
things not take the easy way out. sorry but thats my feelings on the
full issue. i have talked to some of the devel of automatix and they are
looking for better ways to do things and have changed alot but i havent
looked at code. but to have something like that plus the 2-3 other ways
to install something is just gonna "tempt" someone to take the easy way
out and when they have a problem "maybe not with the app" but now they
wont know how to help in fixing it in the sense "well ive only installed
this adn i installed java but ff wont use java how do i fix this" than
the easiest way to fix this is to install java "this way"
