The current psphpbb2 page also violates the wikiguide:

I completely agree. I also agree about the WebApplications page. I
reckon LAMP installation is a small part of the absolute beginners'
guide I am thinking of.

The LAMP page should handle installing and troubleshooting LAMP. The
thing is that the out-of-the-box lamp install is complete with the
exception of the mysql root password.

To use some other web applications, you need to first create a
database, while others only require that you enter the mysql root
password and the application takes care of that.

I suppose that the LAMP page should stop at creating the root password
and then each individual web application page should create the
database using mysql, as appropriate? Or should the LAMP page also
describe how to set up a database in general?

As well, do you think a seperate guide for the absolute beginner is
needed, or should it be bundled with another existing guide? I'm
assuming that a lot of people are installing LAMP to experiment with
some web applications before deploying them on either a home server or
buying web hosting. What I am describing applies to the first-timer
who does not know where to start.

The first-timer will not realize that they probably need dynamicDNS to
allow others to easily access their web application. They probably
won't think about IP masquerading. They will wonder why there is no
GUI, etc. All these things are out of the scope of just installing
LAMP and setting the mysql root password.

Any ideas?
