Hello all
In https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats , the 'How to Make Things
Work in a Hurry' section is not clear on which (K,X)Ubuntu distribution it
applies to. For example, Xubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake comes with a Xfmedia media
player.
(This comment is similar to the 28 Dec comment in the 'talk' page
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats/Talk .)
Also, it would be nice to have a short explanation of the front-ends and
back-ends of media players. I would suggest adding a 'Media Players' section; in
it add a link to 'MultimediaApplications' page
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MultimediaApplications), and make 'The
(K)Ubuntu Media Players' 'Alternative Media Players' its sub-sections.
Another point regarding media players back-ends. Since Xfmedia is based on xine
engine, in 'How to Make Things Work in a Hurry' is it necessary to install
gstreamer0.10 stuff for Xfmedia?
Regards
Chris
