Please, never - ever - rely on JavaScript for important functionality
like this. It's a recipe for disaster for a significant minority of users.

One of the most important of those users is googlebot, which IIRC
doesn't run javascript.

Another important group is comprised of those of us promoting and using
Ubuntu in the developing world, who often work with equipment that is
stretched to the utmost. Turning off Javascript, Flash and other
memory-hogging frills is one of the steps we take to make outdated
computers usable. Unless I misunderstand, we are the primary target of
the ShipIt programme, so it would be a shame if we had to work harder
than others to get the CDs.

To be clear: I'm not recommending against a refactoring of the
interface, nor am I suggesting that JavaScript has no place in the mix.
I'm just reminding people that relying on it exclusively is dangerous.

...But I'm probably preaching to the choir, aren't I? 8^)
