I think that could be confusing.  Kubuntu is an operating system - the Ubuntu 
operating system with KDE as its desktop.  If the documentation is referring 
to the desktop environment, it should say KDE.  If it's referring to the 
operating system, it should say Kubuntu or Linux (or GNU/Linux).
