"Red Hat, Caldera"

Ahh memories.. I do remember moving to Debian and its wonderful package management system soon after though.

Subject: Writer interested in Ubuntu Install Guide & Wiki documentation

Hello all,

I emailed Jerome Gotangco, expressing a strong interest in contributing to Ubuntu documentation, specifically to the Install Guide (since it is currently in Help Wanted status) and Wiki content. The Documentation Team Wiki suggests that I also email the mailing list to express this interest.

Not sure what kind of information you're interested in - I've been employed as a (senior) technical writer for about seven years for two major database and two major antivirus companies. I've used and hacked Linux on-and-off since 1995 (Red Hat, Caldara, Fedora 3 & 4). I'm currently running Gentoo and Ubuntu (okay, and OSX). I've been a member of the Ubuntu Web site for about 5-6 months.

If you're wondering why I'm interested in contributing to Ubuntu documentation, here are some quick answers: I enjoy writing; I want to contribute to something bigger than myself and something that I believe in (open source); and, finally, for pure intellectual curiosity and joy.

I'm already reviewing your tools and processes.

I look forward to hearing from you.
