Secondly, try to avoid a chatty style, and keep things linguistically 
simple. This is good because it makes it easier for readers of many cultures 
to understand, and also makes it easier to translate: its good to avoid 
colloquial language and humor because these things don't translate well. 

You might want to take a look at our style-guide, currently being worked on 
in our archive, or take a look at the completed gnome styleguide at 
http://developer.gnome.org/documents/style-guide/ 

One technical thing: the semi colon in the following section is unnecessary: 
<ulink url="http://www.ubuntuforums.org;">Ubuntu Forums</ulink> 

However, if you want to use one of the entities in our /libs/glocal.ent, for 
example the link to Ubuntu forums, you can do this like so:
<ulink url="&ubuntu-forums;">Ubuntu Forums</ulink>
