Hello Blaise,

We meet again.

In our previous communications, I have already given you an indication that
books on administration will be in demand. As for hackers, I am not sure that
is yet an issue as such books are not about ubuntu per se, rather they are
about programming which is a rather generic subject.

Suggestion: Manning may find it better to actually work and communicate with
the community in a manner that is open and transparent as apposed to
approaching individuals in a closed manner. It is no secret that Manning is
approaching people so why not just engage in open discussion with the ubuntu
doc community. I think you will make faster progress and obtain a greater
depth of perspective. It will also improve our community perception of
Manning. All the cloak and dagger stuff does not go down very well in an open
culture.

Blaise, I realize that Manning wants to work on its books in a closed source
fashion. I am sure that many members of our doc community would like to work
on such projects with you. Many will not mind working in a closed source
fashion, however many would prefer to work under an open license. By speaking
to the community on a channel such as ubuntu-doc at lists.ubuntu.com you will be
able to discuss options for our community to work with Manning. I think you
will find that the number of business ideas will multiply as will the number
of people at your service. This is a much better way to do your market
research and will be well respected by the community.

We look forward to hearing from and engaging with you.
