weekly newsletter

I am interested in starting/working on a weekly newsletter type of
thing.  It can be a distilled down and nicely presented summary of
what is going on in the community, what meetings are coming up, new
members, maybe a "featured project" or something.  I would work with
the leaders of the different teams to get something together each week
and mail out.

I see the target audience being people that dont want to read all the
mailing lists but would like to see what kind of things are going on
with the project.  I got the idea from the Gentoo Weekly newsletter so
I guess it would be something like that.

Is something like this being worked on?  I haven't seen it.  And is
there anyone that would like to help?  Does anyone think this is a bad
idea for any reason?
