Thanks Jonathan, it is good to know that I am not alone on this. I sometimes 
think that perhaps I am the one who is at fault. Maybe I am not seeing things 
in the right way or only from my perspective. I try to stand back and look in 
as a third person, but even that is not always reassuring on issues such as 
this.

Anyway, on a positive note, I think that these interactions are healthy in a 
way. The teach us to stay on course and focused on the core decisions we have 
made as a team. We need to learn to block out much of the noise that 
surrounds our core focus. Yet, we must not become so focused that we block 
out all good ideas that are worthwhile changing or adopting into our work 
methods and general direction. I guess this is easier said than done.

Working on open source at a distro level has taught me much. It is much harder 
than working in individual projects. Sometimes I feel that I can be more 
productive on satelite projects, but then I realize that there would not be 
as many challenges and very little room for personal growth.
