Bored Student Looking for Fun

Hi all,
I am Carthik, a Ph.D. student at the University of Central Florida. I have
been an Ubuntu user since January this year. I thought it best to introduce
myself here, after lurking at #ubuntu-doc for a few (silent) hours.
I have some experience working with wikis (mediawiki/phpwiki) and I have
edited the Ubuntu wiki occassionally, and I would like to get involved, but
not so much with wikis, though. As for programming, I prefer C and PHP, but I
prefer not to code for fun, since I get lots of that at work/school already.
I contribute to the WordPress project (http://wordpress.org), so I suppose
one could say WordPress was my "gateway drug" :-P
I thought it'd be nice if I could contribute to Ubuntu's doc team.
I hope to learn how creating documentation with docbook works, and, in the
process, to contribute to Ubuntu's documentation.
It would be great if someone could assign me a task or two, and get me booted
up. I have been to the wiki pages, and all the tasks listed there, and the
suggestion seem to merit equal importance. A traditional case of the "where
do I start" problem, I suppose :) So what is the most useful/productive thing
I could do, in the following few days/weeks? If there is nothing specific,
then no sweat, I guess I will start somewhere, eventually.
So long,
Carthik
