        OS/Version: Linux

          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: General

Ubuntu is greatly in need of an official hardware support page. The wiki (
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupportComponentsWirelessNetworkCards ) doesn't
seem to be quite accurate.

I had to manually compile and install the cvs version of madwifi to get my
DWL-G520 to work properly. The one installed with Hoary didn't work. A bunch
of people on the message board have had this same problem and complained about
hardware that was supposed to work out of the box not working at all.

Is there a way to remove the madwifi modules installed by Hoary's restricted
kernel module?
