The original idea[1] was this:

  The Ubuntu Quick Start Guide (in a Nutshell) (the pocket book) - The
  basic install overview - overview of applications - how to join the
  community - something around ~6000 words + loads of pictures and
  screenshots.

So I'd think that yes, it should be there, maybe with some installation
screenshots one can get from qemu.

The "Installing Ubuntu" chapter of the User's Guide, possibly flattened
to a single section, may already be a good install overview for the
Quickguide.
