Hello Ken,

Good to hear from you. Involvement in the community is easy, especially for
documentation.

First your want to get yourself a copy of the sources. These can be found in
Subversion at https://docteam.ubuntu.com/repos/trunk

Subversion is a revision control system. It can be installed by doing
sudo apt-get install subversion
When that is installed, we need to install the docbook components

sudo apt-get install docbook
sudo apt-get install docbook-xsl
sudo apt-get install xsltproc

That's the basics.

Let's get the src.

make your home dir the present working directory then issue this command:
svn co https://docteam.ubuntu.com/repos/trunk ubuntu-docs

This will copy the most current release of the XML src and images to your
local hard disk and create a directory called ubuntu-docs/ in your home dir.

Once the checkout is over you can make changes to the XML using any XML Editor
(structured editor).
