Announcements on the main page?

Hi, people...

after the Hoary/X.Org announcement today I wondered where we put public
announcements? Would it be possible to put such a "news" page in the
documentation section but automatically display the x newest entries on
the main page? This just means public (PR) announcements.
Or will you handle that if we mail it to you, Louise?
