question about yelp

I am working through the quickguide on a Hoary machine.  I decided to
open the file on the svn server, running Warty, and it will not open.
Tried another Hoary machine, it opens.  Can yelp files made on Hoary
work on Warty?  I did not think this would be a problem.  Let me know if
anyone else is having problems with the quickguide.
