After a quick discussion with Gauvain Pocentek and Colin Watson today on IRC, I'd like to see about moving the Xubuntu seeds from under ~ubuntu-core-dev to ~xubuntu-devel to allow for Xubuntu developers who are not Ubuntu core developers (such as myself) to make changes to the seeds. For this to occur:

1. The xubuntu-devel team must be created. The rationale for creating this team is that currently xubuntu-team is the bug contact for a number of packages. Obvisously ubuntu-core-devs should be able to modify the seeds as well but making them a member of xubuntu-team would result in large amounts of bug e-mail for core-devs. Colin suggested setting an e-mail address for xubuntu-team so that individual members don't get the bug mail but currently this is the preferred beheaviour.

2. Once the xubuntu-devel team is created ubuntu-core-dev would become a member of xubuntu-devel.

3. Changing the location of the seeds requires changes to launchpad. This, according to Colin, will require a transition period.

Thoughts, comments, concerns?

Thanks,

Cody

--
Cody A.W. Somerville
