Hi, I'm writing about broadcom drivers that are currently not included in Ubuntu. I completely understand that they cannot be shipped with the distro because no word has been sent to you guys allowing the drivers to be added. I remember reading in a ubuntu devel email that, if you guys were to receive an email letting the drivers ship with the product, it would be trivial to have it work out of the box. This got me thinking that, even though you can't ship it in the box, you might possibly make it so that I could download a package online from another computer, put it on a usb stick, and install it so everything will work. The problem is, my computer is only connected through wireless. When people on discussion boards say to download certain programs and such, I cannot do that. I'm not connected right away. Through many different programs, and iwconfig commands (every start up), I have been able to get the bcm43xx driver to work with my Linksys WMP54G card, using the bcmwl5 windows driver. I had to use a program called fwcutter to get it to work. Would it be possible to have you put up a download which I could get that would get everything working on my computer without the hassle? Thank you.
