Thanks Robie for driving this. While I greatly value the work many
venerable open source contributors have done in the past 30 years, I
also see that many have a tendency to cling onto old habits that newer
generations have not, and will never pick up. In the larger context of
renewing our graying open source communities, pushing for IRC->Matrix
mass migration will surely be beneficial, despite some short-term cost
in doing the move.
