Hi folks,
I have been working on getting OpenLDAP 2.5 ready to start the
transition process in impish. Ryan Tandy (Debian's OpenLDAP maintainer)
has been very, very kind and helping me drive this process forward.
I am currently working on solving the remaining FTBFSes (from packages
that link against libldap) and will then start running and checking the
results of all autopkgtests involved in this transition.
I am not expecting many problems to arise due to the soname bump itself
(wine and wine-development have been giving me a bit of a headache due
to their FTBFSes, but everything seems OK now), but we will certainly
have "a bit" of work to do in the maintainer scripts to assure a smooth
upgrade path from 2.4 to 2.5. Ryan has been working on this for now
(kudos to him again).
I will keep you posted and will let you know when I update the openldap
package (which will be sync'ed from Debian experimental once Ryan pushes
it there).
Thank you,
--
