Hey,

Sure it's unpleasant but reality is that GTK2 is unmaintained for over 
1.5 years, that GTK3 is default in Ubuntu and other distributions for 
over a year and that has been shipped in a LTS. We need at some point to 
move forward and port our code to the current GTK version (we kept the 
GTK2 indicator stack in the LTS only for derivatives but it's creating 
issues and extra work for us, we can't keep doing that for ever)...
